User questions this month

In any given month we will receive emails from users who either run into problems, need to report bugs or just have questions. In this blog post we will review a few questions received in July, so let’s get started.

“Assessor requested to view my lab, and this happened”

An assessor was requesting to view a laboratory’s quality manual that had both a primary lab and a satellite lab account. In the process, the assessor requested the primary lab when intending to view the satellite lab, and when the request landed on the primary lab’s dashboard, the user contacted us thinking there was an issue. After a little research, it was found that the assessor requested the wrong lab, and the issue was resolved after the assessor requested the correct lab. The takeaway here is to make sure the assessor is looking for the correct lab when accessing accounts. For example: the primary lab might be named Main Street Lab, and the satellite lab might be named Main Street Lab – Downtown.

“I don’t want to keep receiving Monday morning emails”

When adding a piece of equipment, one of the requirements is to name at least one user to receive the weekly emails for cal/check/standard/maintenance procedures in order to save that record. If there is a user who wishes not to receive emails related to equipment procedures, that person should not be listed as a recipient. The best way to manage/remove equipment procedure notifications is to go to the Manage Lab Tab, click Email notifications (upper left), then click Equipment and Procedures. From there you will see categories of equipment that can be managed.

“I’m not getting technician evaluation emails”

After doing a little research we discovered the user wasn’t completing technician training and evaluation records from the Evaluations tab. Instead, they were clicking Save Progress, and once Save and Complete was clicked, they continued to receive upcoming technician training and evaluation records emails for that technician.

“Incomplete technician evaluations are not showing up in my quality manual”

All technician training and evaluation records must be completed to be visible in the Quality Manual, section 5.5.4 Technician Training Evaluation Report Records.

The most common question and how we resolved it

“How do I grant access to my Assessor for our upcoming onsite/remote assessment?”

We detailed this in a recent blog post entitled Granting Assessors Access – Revisited. We also resolved this by posting this same post on the log-in page under Application News.
